Yes, it's true about LotR. If you watch the scene after Boromir's corpse goes over the waterfall, and it pans to the shot of Aragorn fiddling with his arms and looking after it on the shoreline, those were Boromir's vambraces -- look closely, the tree of Gondor is etched on them. It was Viggo's idea to do it.
That is so awesome. (Also, another reason to admire Viggo as an actor…? Yes yes that’s always good.) This week I’ve been sensing a bunch of little things that are all pointing to the fact that I really need to watch LoTR again. It’s been a couple years since I’ve watched the movies all the way through… and that just won’t do.
It may be time to watch the commentary again, too. >:D
