So I’m pretty openly bi.
But I’m sorry, but I am completely sick and tired of having my sexuality questioned. And by that I mean, bisexuality as a whole. Questioned.
I was literally moments away from clarifying it to a coworker (and friend), because we were speaking of a mutual friend’s new interest who might himself be bi. And then she proceeds to tear it down and say that she’s worried about those kind of people because they might eventually “choose one way or the other.” And I tried to explain that, no, being bi does not mean that you are “confused.” It doesn’t mean that you are waiting for “things to become clear to you.” And she comes back with the same old arguments which I’ve heard from gay and straight people alike, “I think some people are confused,” “blah blah blah gender biased commentary,” “if you’re a little gay you’re probably all gay,” “oh except I have this one friend and she really is just attracted to the SOUL not the BODY and I think that’s ok-“
NO I’M SORRY BUT I DON’T WANT TO BE TOLD HOW I SHOULD VIEW AND/OR CONDUCT MY SEXUALITY. OR THAT OF ANYONE ELSE FOR THAT MATTER.
It ESPECIALLY sucks because now, even if I come out to her directly and she changes her tune, I will still know what she really thinks.
UGH JUST NO GET OUT /headdesk
